What Is ELDT Training

ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) is a federal requirement for anyone who wants to:
- Get a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License
- Upgrade from Class B to Class A
- Add endorsements like Hazmat, Passenger, or School Bus
As of February 2022, you must complete ELDT through a registered FMCSA Training Provider before taking your CDL skills or knowledge test.
